Natural, simple, and pure – just as She has created them.
This project was initiated in 2020 after a forced and continuous quarantine. My objective is to distribute the herbs of Bulgaria for a healthier life and as an alternative way of healing. I wish to contribute to the quiet revolution, which is waking up people around the globe with slow steps and bringing us back to nature.
My herbal garden with mursal tea is located in the Rhodope mountains, more than 1200 meters above sea level, where fireflies still have a harbor and the thousands of bees during the blossom season are proof of the plants' richness.
The herb (Sideritis scardica) is endemic to the Balkans and is known by various names in different countries and regions in Bulgaria - Mountain, Greek, Shepherd, Pirin, Mursal tea, and more. A legend says that Mursal tea began to grow where Orpheus' tears fell when he cried for his beloved Eurydice. There are various stories, but I have no proof of their authenticity. What I can affirm with a clear conscience is that people who have regularly consumed Mursal tea have shared with me improvements in their health.
The idea of making tinctures came up during a conversation with a herbalist, followed by years of product development.
Some people have shared with me that they do not have time to brew tea because of their busy city lives. Taking a tincture is an easier way to benefit from the natural strength of these herbs.
The benefits of a tincture exceed those of a tea or infusion because ethyl alcohol extracts more beneficial substances than hot water.
All tinctures are made with fresh herbs harvested during flowering and steeped within 24 hours. This is an important step, as this method preserves beneficial elements that might otherwise evaporate during the drying process.
In other words, by consuming these tinctures, you can enjoy the healing properties of fresh herbs all year long.
